ABOUT US

Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce

You will receive a warm welcome when you visit Eagle River during any time of the year. Wisconsin’s favorite natural vacation destination has exciting activities and major events all year long. Eagle River is officially trademarked as “The Snowmobile Capital of the World ®” and is also the home of the World Championship Snowmobile Derby. But it is the summer months that really come alive in the area. Eagle River is at the center of the largest concentration of freshwater lakes in the world. There are over 3,000 lakes within an hour’s drive of town. The famous Chain of 28 connected lakes and the Nicolet National Forest bring visitors to the area for unmatched family outdoor recreation and relaxation. The area features abundant lodging, dining and shopping choices, in all price ranges.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

In the Eagle River area you will find yourself surrounded by awe-inspiring nature, excellent accommodations and the kind of generous hospitality you thought didn’t exist anymore. Eagle River is the heart of Wisconsin’s famous Northwood’s area. The area’s many lakes are blessed with an abundance of resorts, hotels, condominiums and campgrounds. Many lakeside dining establishments can be enjoyed. So if you are looking for a quick meal for the family or an elegant dining establishment for a romantic evening, many choices are offered. Enjoy an all-you –can-eat Friday Night Fish Fry. Great food in a beautiful Northwood’s setting always seems just a little bit better.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

  • WINTER: Yeah, we’re known as Eagle River, but we’re also known as the Snowmobile Capital of the World® and the Hockey Capital of Wisconsin™. And with names like those, you know we’re experts when it comes to winter fun. Whether you’re cross-country skiing, fat tire biking, ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or just hanging around town, we’ve got what you need to dig up some fun this winter.
  • SPRING: All of the boating, hiking, swimming and whatever else you like to do is right around the corner but in the meantime, get out on our golf courses, go birding, see what’s blooming around the area and don’t miss out on opening fishing weekend. Plus, there’s dining, shopping and so much more to do even on those rainy spring days.
  • SUMMER: The skies are sunny and blue. The trees are green and full. The lakes are warm and pristine. The great outdoors are teeming with life. Yes, it’s summertime up in the Eagle River area. And you don’t want to miss it! Boat, fish, golf, to your hearts content. Other popular activities include hiking, biking, horseback trail riding or enjoy a lakeside campfire. Special events are scheduled every weekend as listed within our popular website ( I would like this to: https://eagleriver.org/events/)
  • FALL: Come fall, our tree’s sure hog the spotlight, but there’s lots of other fun to find in their shadows. Make sure you get in some last boating, fishing and hiking trips before the sun sets on the season. Oh, and of course, don’t forget to get in an eyeful of that beautiful fall Northwoods color we’re known for and Cranberry Fest the first weekend of October.
